Ambigram – Proud Pinoy / Pinay

 

This ambigram have been in my head for a long time.  I thought it will be a good design for a shirt.  So when my friend showed me his bleach art t-shirt, I decided to work on the ambigram and had it placed on my shirt as well.

I wanted some design to be proud of.  So what can be more appropiate than be proud of being “Pinoy”.  So here’s the Proud Pinoy ambigram.  If you rotate the word Proud, it is read as Pinoy.

I had a hard time working on the Pi–D inversion.  It’s always a challenge to combine two letters to form just one letter when inverted.  I had several revision and this is the one the worked.  I may need to study more designs and improve this.  I also made a Proud Pinay ambigram.

I added some intricate decoratives to make it more attractive.  Since I will put this design in a shirt, the decoratives provided a strong impact to the viewer.  The final product was just awesome.  I get a lot of wows when I wore the shirt.

We will be selling other shirts in a bazaar at Quezon City this weekend.  I hope it attracts the buyers who are doing their Christmas shopping.
